Erica Ballard holds a Master of Science in Health Communication from Tufts University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University Bloomington — a combination that shapes how she writes: grounded in research, built for real people.
Before coaching, Erica spent years in public health communication, including as Director of Strategic Communication for the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention and as a Public Affairs Coordinator for the Office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator. That background in translating complex health policy and research for public audiences became the foundation for her later work.
For nearly eight years as a Certified Health Coach (CHC), Erica worked directly with women navigating burnout, helping them rebuild sustainable habits around sleep, stress, recovery, and physical health. Today, she brings that same research-driven, practical approach to her writing — helping BioMat readers understand not just what the research says, but how to actually use it.
